ENERGY AWARENESS & FUEL POVERTY – FREE TRAINING COURSES
Energy Action Scotland (EAS) is the national charity campaigning for an end to fuel poverty in Scotland. Set up as a charity in 1983, EAS seeks to develop and promote effective solutions to the problem of cold, damp and expensive to heat homes.
Fuel poverty is an everyday reality for many low income and vulnerable households. Today, almost one third of households in Scotland are estimated to be in fuel poverty, which means they are unable to afford adequate warmth in the home. There are opportunities for many consumers to save money by switching fuel tariff or energy supplier. However, Consumer Focus Scotland research shows that low income and vulnerable consumers are less likely to switch, or to adopt energy efficiency measures, than better off households.
