Support

We are here to support voluntary organisations, community groups, charities and social enterprises (the third sector)  to be strong, robust organisations, fit for the purpose that they have set themselves and able to grow and develop to best achieve their goals.  We want to see a third sector that is able to respond to the needs of the community effectively & efficiently, demonstrate good practice & a quality approach and can create opportunities for people in East Ayrshire.

Our work is essential to help third sector organisations operate legally, properly and effectively.  Committee members of third sector organisations have same legal obligations that directors of businesses do, but rarely have the levels of resources, professional support,

Our team are available to help your organisation with a whole range of tasks.  We are funded by Scottish Government to provide support to the third sector, however like many of the groups we support we find ourselves in the position that this grant does not cover the full level of service we would like to be able to offer.  This means that some of our services are free, while others have a charge associated with them.  For some areas, like registering as a charity, there is a free service where we will provide you with information about what you need to do, and a paid for service where we will undertake work for you.

Where a fee applies we will always make you are aware of the fee before we begin, are informed about any ways you could reduce or avoid the fee by doing things for yourselves.  Our aim is to develop organisations which are self-sufficient, not ones that rely on us to deliver work for them.

If your organisation needs a service that has a fee attached, but genuinely cannot afford it please contact us.  We may be able to help you find a grant to help pay for your support, or in certain circumstances we may be able to reduce or cancel fees.  Remember we want you to succeed.
