I was born and raised in West Kilbride, Ayrshire.
I was educated in Glasgow: Strathclyde University (BA Georgraphy), then onto Jordanhill Training College (Diploma in Secondary Education)
I taught for 10 years in Easterhouse, 6 years in Coatbridge and 14 years in Cumnock.
Volunteering has been a livelong commitment:
• I volunteered in teaching – Secretary of Glasgow Schools Chess League
• I am one of the founder members of the RSPB Glasgow Members Branch
• I have been in our local Community Council for 20 years and am presently the Chair
• I am also the Chair of Logan Communities Association –Logan Centre Management
• I was a Board Member of the Ayrshire Household Recycling 2004 – 2009
• I am a Board Member of Coalfield Communities Federation
• The Ayrshire Rep for the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO)
I became one of the Directors for CVO (EA) Ltd nearly 2 years ago after a colleague working for the CVO at that time recommended it to me. |
