I grew up in Ardrossan until I was 10 and then moved with my family to Kilwinning in 1978.
I attended Stanley Primary, Ardrossan and then onto Abbey Primary, Kilwinning. I attended Kilwinning Academy until 4th year and then moved to Ardrossan Academy, where I gained 5 ‘O’ Grades & 1 Higher Grade. I then went onto Kilmarnock College where I gained my Scotvec qualification in Secretarial Studies (MERIT).
I worked as a Manager for Victoria Wine/Haddows for 11 years. I then worked as an Office Manager for an Adjustable Bed company in Stevenston for 6 years, until the company went into liquidation, at which point I was on maternity leave. This gave me the opportunity to stay at home with my baby and then when he turned 2 yrs old, I decided it was time for me to go back to work part-time. At this point, I saw the advert for a part-time Admin Assistant within CVO (East Ayrshire) Ltd, applied and thankfully got the job.
After a few months as Admin Assistant, I was then promoted to Office Manager and then in July 2010, I was offered the position of Development Worker. |
