This conference is for people who work or volunteer in community based sports clubs of any type in Scotland, but with a particular emphasis on bringing together people from boxing, bowling and community football clubs that are based in coalfield communities.

Community Courses delivered by Action on Depression PDF Print Email

Two new open community courses delivered by Action on Depression will be running in East Ayrshire in early 2012 (dates and venues below). These courses are free to members of the public (over 18 years old) experiencing mild to moderate depression / anxiety / low mood and the materials delivered are evidence-based using a cognitive behavioural therapy approach to tackle problems, reduce unhelpful thinking and increase positive behaviours. Where: The North West Area Centre, Western Road, Kilmarnock

When: Tuesday evenings 6pm-8pm

Start date: Tuesday 7th February

Cumnock 2012

Where: Visions Leisure Centre, Auchinleck Road, Cumnock

When: Wednesday evenings 6-8pm

Start date: Wednesday 1st February

Finish date: Wednesday 7th March

Places on the above two courses are limited and need to be reserved. Individuals also need to be able to attend all six dates where possible to gain the maximum benefit from the course. FREE Training – don’t miss out! Visibility is the west of Scotland charity supporting people affected by sight loss. We have been delivering pioneering and innovative services to blind and partially sighted people of all ages for over 150 years. Visibility has been awarded Lottery funding to deliver free visual impairment awareness training in Ayrshire until June 2012 and hope that you will be able to join us. Visibility’s Visual Impairment Awareness training aims to develop a more inclusive community for people with a visual impairment and is suitable for most organisations and individuals.
